Boundary and ConstraintsThis is a featured page

A constraint is a restriction on the degree of freedom you have in providing

a solution. Constraints are effectively global requirements, such as limited

development resources or a decision by senior management that restricts

the way you develop a system.

Constraints can be economic, political, technical, or environmental and

pertain to your project resources, schedule, target environment, or to the

    system itself.

    Three types of constraints exist

Natural - bound by the laws of nature

External - enforced by outside agents

Perceived - assumed to be undesirable, prohibited or impossible

Boundary

  • By this term is understood in general, every separation, natural or artificial, which marks the confines or line of division of two contiguous estates.
  • Boundary also signifies stones or other materials inserted in the earth on the confines of two estates.

  • Boundaries are either natural or artificial. A river or other stream is a natural boundary and in that case the center of the stream is the line.

  • An artificial boundary is one made by man.
